DBasia.news – Arsenal former manager Arsene Wenger is awarded the LMA Service to Football Award for his dedication in football.
After 9 years with no title with Arsenal, Wenger is awarded by League Managers Association (LMA).
Before this award, Wenger also got other ceremonial awards from Leaders Sports Awards on October and also the Knight Grand Commander of the Humane Order of African Redemption from his former player who is now the Liberia President, George Weah.
Throughout his career as Arsenal coach, Wenger won three Premier League and seven FA Cup.
During the ceremony on Thursday evening, Wenger jokes that since he left Arsenal, he won the trophy every week.
“Since I don’t compete anymore, I get a trophy every week. How stupid was I not to understand earlier?” Wenger jokes.
Meanwhile, LMA chairman Howard Wilkinson said Arsene’s contribution to English football is essential.
“It is our privilege to bestow upon him the LMA Service to Football Award in recognition of his magnificent achievements,” Wilkinson said.
