Ledley King: Tottenham Don’t Need a Trophy to Be Considered Successful

Tottenham

DBasia.news –  The arrival of Mauricio Pochettino from Southampton in 2014 lifted Tottenham Hotspur’s performance. Not only playing well, but Spurs also played consistently and penetrated the top four of the Premier League – the Champions League zone.

Even in the 2018/19 season, Pochettino managed to deliver Spurs to the top of the Champions League. Unfortunately, The Lilywhites failed to embrace the big ear trophy, because it ran aground on their opponents with the score 0-2.

This failure made the best achievement of the Argentine coach so far only as a finalist (League Cup and Champions League). Even so, the Spurs legend did not feel if Pochettino was a coach who failed just because he did not get a trophy.

In fact, King assesses that if the public has to see the development of the team built by the coach from Argentina since he handled it five years ago.

“No, the most important thing is the development of the team. We all want to win the trophy, all the teams too, but that is not something given away. It is very difficult and no one can get it for free,” King was quoted as saying from Goal.

“The team will always try to compete to win anything. But, I don’t think you can judge success, just based on winning the trophy,” he concluded.

For additional information, the last time Spurs won the title occurred in 2008 when they won the League Cup title. This is what seems to frustrate the supporters of the club from the city of North London.
