The presidential candidate who thought so was Agusti Benedito. He even criticized Messi for not showing any intention to stay longer at the Camp Nou.
Benedito believes Barcelona will find it difficult to keep Messi due to the financial crisis. It is believed that Blaugrana will not be able to pay La Pulga’s salary as it is today.
In this condition, Benedito hopes that Messi will make sacrifices for the club that raised his name. But he did not see any of these signs.
“Keeping Messi would be the best news for the club, but I’m not overly optimistic. I wanted him to say in his interview last week that his wish was to stay at the club, but he didn’t and now we have to wait and see,” Benedito told ESPN.

Messi did provide a breath of fresh air by claiming to have returned to his comfort with Barcelona. But he did not dare to pledge allegiance.
