Lionel Messi Is the Key to Mohamed Salah’s Success

DBasia.news – Since coming to Liverpool in 2017 Mohamed Salah’s performance has been the center of attention. Previously, Salah was considered a failure when he defended Chelsea in mid 2014-2016, he was even loaned to Fiorentina and AS Roma at the time.

His official price of 37 million pounds seems low if you look at his contribution to date. The 27-year-old player was the team’s top scorer, taking Liverpool to the Champions League, European Super Cup and Club World Cup.

This season Liverpool are on the verge of winning the Premier League title last won in 1990. Jurgen Klopp has managed to maximize the potential of Mo Salah and combine it up front with Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Significant improvement in Mo Salah’s performance attracted public attention. His former coach in the Egyptian national team, Bob Bradley spoke up on the matter. According to him the recipe for Mo Salah’s success was because he followed his advice to study Lionel Messi, Barcelona’s superstar.

“Salah has improved a lot since I left the Egyptian national team, he is a great player,” Bob Bradley said as quoted by Mirror.

“I told him to pay close attention to Messi, so that he could improve his performance and he accepted my advice.”

“At that time I tried to change his position to play as a striker, because he has the speed. He is now one of the best players in the world,” he added.

Arsenal’s legendary ex manager, Arsene Wenger also compared Messi to Mo Salah last year. He saw Mo Salah as being more ambitious in scoring goals than Leo Messi, who also contributed to organizing the team’s attack.

“He has similarities with Messi. He must find consistency from Messi,” added Arsene Wenger.

“I found him to be a good finisher but Messi is complete, he gives the last ball (arranges attacks) as well. Salah is rather obsessed with resolving (opportunities) himself,” he concluded.
