Liverpool are in the hunt for Salah and Mane’s replacement

DBasia.news – Liverpool did not remain silent after it was confirmed that they would lose Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah in about a month. The Reds took advantage of the winter transfer market to find a replacement.

As is known, Salah and Mane are defending their country in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations which will take place from January 9 to February 6. Both are Liverpool’s main focus to score goals.

Salah with Egypt and Mane with Senegal are favoured to win the title. Both countries are predicted to advance to the final stages.

If the two countries advance to the final, then Liverpool will be without Salah and Mane in the next 5 matches in all competitions. This condition is certainly risky for Liverpool who have the opportunity to win a number of titles.

Liverpool are at risk of losing Salah and Mane in 2 of the 5 games at the League Cup semi-final against Arsenal. Jurgen Klopp’s team has a great chance to win the title.

While the other two matches are continued in the Premier League against Brentford and Crystal Palace. Liverpool must win in order to keep the distance from Manchester City at the top of the standings.

In order to overcome this problem, Liverpool inevitably have to sign a new winger. Luis Diaz’s name emerged as the main target.

Diaz is a winger belonging to FC Porto who is able to play on both sides. Throughout this season, the Colombian player has recorded 14 goals and 5 assists from 24 matches in all competitions.

According to the Daily Mail report, Liverpool’s maneuver for Diaz was Klopp’s request. The German manager had indeed witnessed firsthand the player’s performance when they met twice in the Champions League group phase.

Initially Klopp wanted to sign Diaz at the end of the season. But the loss of Salah and Mane accelerated the plan.

Even so, Liverpool’s move to bring Diaz will not be easy to materialize. The 24-year-old has a release clause of £67 million.

This amount is certainly high enough for a player who was brought in to be a coating. But it is possible that Liverpool will redeem him in the remaining time of the transfer market.
