Liverpool Can’t Celebrate the English League Title at Anfield to Avoid Crowd

DBasia.news – Liverpool are unlikely to be able to celebrate the English League title at Anfield. As certainty the English League will be rolling back on June 17th, there are six games that are suggested to be held not in their stadium.

Security reasons are the main cause of the request. Liverpool Mayor Joe Anderson worried that supporters would come to Anfield to celebrate the title.

Liverpool are now 25 points ahead in the standings. They only need two more wins to lock in the title.

The title can be ascertained even faster when Liverpool host Everton in a Premier League comeback match. Requirement, Manchester City, which is ranked second, failed to win.

“It is important for us to understand the focus of the police, as well as the desires of fans. However, the main thing is of course maintaining the health and safety of the community, besides of course we will listen to the fans’ opinions,” Anderson said as quoted by Sky Sports.

“Will they be able to play games that have the potential to cause a safe crowd? Like a Merseyside Derby, for example.”

The police also have the same concern. They asked for five matches including three for Liverpool to be played in neutral ground.

“Games where Liverpool can secure league titles should also be moved,” said South Yorkshire Deputy Police Chief Mark Roberts.

The Premier League has not yet made a decision regarding this request. Liverpool still have a chance to celebrate the title at home.

Five Premier League matches that are likely to be held in neutral places:

1. Everton vs Liverpool

2. Manchester City vs Liverpool

3. Manchester City vs Newcastle United

4. Manchester United vs Sheffield United

5. Newcastle United vs Liverpool
