DBasia.news – A good start for Liverpool in 2020. They won 2-0 over Sheffield United in the continuing Premier League match and remain unbeaten.
Hosting the Premier League promotion team in Week 21 of the Premier League, Friday (03/01) AM, Liverpool dominated the game with 75 percent possession, releasing 19 kick attempts and seven on target.
Of the seven kicks on target, two of which resulted in goals. Mohamed Salah scored the first goal in the fourth minute and the second by Sadio Mane in the 64th minute.
As a result, Liverpool have been undefeated in 37 consecutive Premier League matches and are in third place with the longest undefeated record. Merseyside Red is below Arsenal and Chelsea.
The Gunners, with their invincible record, went through 49 games without defeat from May 2003 to October 2004 and won the Premier League. Likewise, Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea in October 2004 to November 2005 for 40 consecutive matches.
Chris Wilder, manager of Sheffield United, was at a loss for words to compliment Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
“We didn’t play as usual, we were unable to match their level (Liverpool) and did nothing in that position,” Wilder told BT Sport 1.
“They were great and played fully. They mobilized everything. People talk about academy coaches and all this nonsense, techniques, tactics. (However) when we fight them, we can complicate them.”
“So academy coaches and all kinds of nonsense about coaching, take a look at Liverpool tonight. Playing in second and third gear, but still humble and have the desire to do so as world champions and European champions, towards the Premier League champions.”
Liverpool, with one match postponed, are now in first place with 58 points and 13 points adrift of Leicester City in second place, and 14 points with Manchester City in third place.
