Liverpool Doesn’t Want to Stop Hunting for Titles

DBasia.news –  Juergen Klopp doesn’t care about Liverpool’s 19-point advantage at the top of the table at the moment. The Liverpool coach wants his team to remain consistent and thirst for the title.

Visiting the London Olympic Stadium, Thursday (01/30/2020) AM, Liverpool reaped a 2-0 victory over West Ham United. The goals were scored by Mohamed Salah (penalty) and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

These additional three points has made Liverpool be firmly on the top position of the Premier League with 70 points from 24 matches. The number of matches Liverpool and Manchester City in second place is the same, but they are 19 points adrift.

The distance is quite far and seeing Liverpool’s current performance, it feels challenging to shift from the top. Moreover, City and Leicester City as two hunters also often appeared inconsistent.

With conditions like this, Liverpool is eight wins from the Premier League title. However, Klopp cautioned his players to not be complacent considering the season still has 14 games left.

For Klopp, the most important thing is that Liverpool still looks good and continues to win, including when they host Southampton at Anfield this weekend.

“I don’t know if anyone can catch us. Our main target is to get as many points as possible. There are still a lot of games to be played,” Klopp said as quoted by BBC Sport.

“Indeed we have 70 points, the amount is incredible, but anything can happen. I promise that we will not celebrate first. We will take a break for a while and then face Southampton on Saturday,” he continued.
