Liverpool meets Inter Milan, Andrew Robertson is thrilled

DBasia.news – The draw for the 2021-2022 Champions League last 16 draw has made Liverpool meet Inter Milan. This condition actually made Andrew Robertson thrilled.

As is known, the draw for the 16 round had to be repeated after protests from Atletico Madrid. The Spanish representative revealed three mistakes in the drawing process and considered them to be unfair.

UEFA also accepted Atletico’s protest and held a re-draw three hours later. This decision has made a number of clubs benefited from it and others were disadvantaged.

Liverpool became one of the clubs that were disadvantaged. In the first draw, the Reds were paired with RB Salzburg.

The Austrian representative is certainly an easy opponent for Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp’s team is predicted to go through the 16th round smoothly.

But when the re-draw was made, Liverpool had to meet Inter. The Serie A champions on paper have better quality than Salzburg.

This is certainly a loss for Liverpool. But Robertson has an interesting point of view.

He admitted that the re-draw was detrimental to Liverpool. Even so, the meeting with Inter gave Robertson the opportunity to realize one of his dreams.

The dream that Robertson meant was the opportunity to appear at the Giuseppe Meazza or the San Siro. The Inter and AC Milan headquarters has in fact become one of the Scottish players’ dream stadiums.

“The San Siro is a stadium I’ve wanted to play in since I turned professional. It’s an incredible iconic stadium,” Robertson said, as quoted by the Mirror.

Robertson actually has a chance to realize his dream more quickly. In the last group stage, Liverpool were in the same group as Milan.

But when Liverpool travelled to the San Siro, Robertson was on the bench. This has elevated his desire to compete there even more.

“After visiting last week, I’m happy to be there and accept the (reserved) decision. But hopefully next February, I can be on the pitch and enjoy it more,” he added.

In the last 16, Liverpool will first play away on February 16. If not injured, Robertson will almost certainly appear from the start and make his dream come true.
