Liverpool New Player’s Bad Habit

DBasia.news – Stoke City midfielder, Charlie Adam, assumed that Xherdan Shaqiri is not a star player who gives contribution when the team is down. Adam said the Switzerland national team midfielder never appeared when The Potters were having a difficult time.

The Reds gave £13M to get Shaqiri during the summer transfer market. The former key player of Bayern Munchen signed the contract until June 2023.

Xhaqiri’s presence was expected to boost the performance of Liverpool’s centerline that always depended on Mohamed Salah.

But, speaking to talkSPORT, Adam was assuming that Xhaqiri would give a contribution, considering his past performances.

“Was he one of them? Oh definitely. When the chips are down you look at your big players, you want your big players to bring magic in one moment in the season, and at times we felt like the so-called big players in the squad never turned up for us and never performed,” said Adam.

During the past season, Stoke City had a hard time in the Premier League. At the end of the competition, The Potters had a downgrade.

“Yeah, everybody else could help, but for all the plaudits the so-called bigger players were getting from certain members of the management staff last season – they weren’t producing,” he continued.

“But, listen, he’s gone now. We move on and we look to the future. The future for us at the moment is in the Championship,” Adam uttered.
