DBasia.news – Liverpool reportedly brought in Schalke defender, Ozan Kabak, ahead of the close of the winter transfer market in 2021. Kabak is considered to be the solution to the lack of availability in central defender due to injury.
Previously, Liverpool were determined not to look for a new defender in mid-season. The Reds are confident because Fabinho and Jordan Henderson were able to play in that position.
However, Liverpool’s confidence faded because Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip never recovered. The series of negative results that have been achieved recently has also fueled the Reds’ desire to purchase players.
Italian transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, confirmed that Liverpool’s choice fell to Ozan Kabak. Schalke reportedly has no objection to releasing Kabak on a loan plus a redemption option.
According to Romano, the value for Kabak is around 30 million euros.
Ozan Kabak’s entry into Liverpool’s list is not without cause. The player from Turkey has indeed been in the spotlight, especially last season. He has also been linked with AC Milan.
Furthermore, another transfer expert, Nicolo Schira, dares to ensure Ozan Kabak will become a Liverpool player. The total agreement is a loan with a redemption obligation of 25 million euros plus a bonus of 3 million euros. Kabak will sign a five-year contract.
Meanwhile, Schalke has found a replacement for Kabak. Reportedly, Shkordan Mustafi will join for 2 million euros.
If so, Ozan Kabak will join Ben Davies who is also rumored to be arriving ahead of the transfer closing.
Meanwhile, regarding other names that Liverpool have reportedly approached, namely Duje Caleta-Car and Sven Botman, Romano said the two players would not join.
