DBasia.news – The news of Cristiano Ronaldo desire to leave Manchester United still continues to color the transfer market this summer. And it was responded by Cristiano Ronaldo’s former teammate, Luis Nani.
Ronaldo brought a new passion for Manchester United after choosing to return home in the summer of last year. At that time the Red Devils were trying to get up under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
But Ronaldo’s comeback to Old Trafford turned into a disaster. Manchester United then appeared inconsistent and caused Solskjaer to step down from the managerial position.
The arrival of Ralf Rangnick as caretaker did not help much. Manchester United still finished outside the top four and ruled out the 2022-2023 Champions League.
One of the reasons Ronaldo asked for a move that is most often heard is because he wants to continue playing in the Champions League. This did not surprise Nani.
“For Cristiano, he doesn’t want to spend time building a team or waiting for next season. He wants to stay at the top and score goals,” Nani said on Rio Ferdinand’s podcast Vibe.
“Times change and reactions and attitudes can change too. But as we can see, he does the same as usual which is he doesn’t like losing and reacts when the team doesn’t play well.”
Nani also highlighted the difference between Manchester United’s current condition and Ronaldo’s first period. This seems to have taken the former Juventus player by surprise.
“He is playing again at Man United but he has played well all over the world in different teams with different players. He is in a team where the managers are trying to build a strong team and it is not easy.”
