DBasia.news – Luis Suarez, former Barcelona striker, revealed how Ronald Koeman treats him. The coach was considered to have insulted him.
Suarez left Barcelona last summer. The Uruguay striker was expelled, when his contract had only a year remaining.
The player who finally left for Atletico Madrid was actually able to bring his new team to the Spanish League champions. Suarez himself still appeared good, by making 21 goals for Los Colchoneros.
This weekend, Suarez will face Barcelona in the La Liga stage. The former Ajax Amsterdam and Liverpool player mentioned how he was treated by Koeman before leaving.
“Ronald Koeman treated me with contempt, as if I were 15 years old,” Luis Suarez told SPORT.
“And (former club president, Josep Maria) Bartomeu leaked that I was a bad person in the locker room,” he added.
Now, Koeman’s situation is at stake at Barcelona. The 58-year-old coach is in danger of dismissal as the club has had poor results in the last five games, with four defeats and one draw.
Several names has began to be rumored to be a replacement for Koeman. Among them are Andrea Pirlo, Roberto Martinez, and Xavi Hernandez.
The last name is reportedly the most favoured to train Barcelona. Suarez, who also played with Xavi, has his views.
“Xavi as Barcelona coach? I don’t think now is the right time for him to coach the team. He has to wait for the right moment. He is smart and knows the club’s difficulties,” Suarez stated.
“Xavi has friends at the club and he has to make decisions with them. It’s still challenging,” said Luis Suarez, who is now 34 years old.
