Luke Shaw Extends the Contract in Manchester United

Luke Shaw

DBasia.news – Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has signed the contract renewal to stay at Old Trafford. The 23-year-old player is signing the new long-term contract at Carrington on Thursday (18/10) to end the speculation regarding his future.

His current deal will end next summer after United gave one-year extension last season. Shaw got the significant salary addendum worth £100,000 for a week.

The reason was that he’s the left-back of Jose Mourinho this season. With that salary, he becomes one of the highest-paid defenders in the Premier League.

Shaw’s contract extension is agreed by Jose Mourinho as the manager. After the consultation with the coach, the management released a new contract for him.

The former Southampton defender who recruited with £30M in 2014 got career stagnancy at Old Trafford due to injury.

He spent the first two years under Mourinho. But he made a comeback this season and called-up by England national team after losing the place in the World Cup last summer.

Shaw performed 9 times from 11 United matches this season. He also called-up to England national team squad last season. Despite his withdrawal from the UEFA Nations League due to injury, Shaw is predicted to play in the match against Chelsea this weekend.
