Luke Shaw’s recognition of Cristiano Ronaldo’s influence at Man United

DBasia.news – Manchester United’s performance before the October international break was highlighted following the inconsistencies shown. The result of United’s unstable performance has shifted the focus to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Understandably, since coaching United in December 2018 the management has spoiled him in recruiting players, including in the summer of 2021 when they recruited Tom Heaton, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane, and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Winning a trophy this season should have become an obligation for Solskjaer at United. However, the performance in the last matches did not show when they lost to Young Boys in the Champions League and were knocked out prematurely in the League Cup against West Ham United.

Not to mention the defeat to Aston Villa at Old Trafford in the Premier League and United’s first in the league this season. So understadnably, Solskjaer is on the spotlight.

Even so Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw sees another positive side of the team’s current squad. Namely with the presence of Ronaldo who has won five Champions League titles and five Ballon d’Or.

Ronaldo may be 37 years old but his condition is still excellent. So far Ronaldo has scored five goals in six appearances with United in his second spell with the club.

With great success at club and personal level, Ronaldo returns to Old Trafford with an unquestionable winning mentality. According to Shaw it had an effect in United’s locker room.

“You know he (Ronaldo) is the star, what he’s been doing over the years, it’s been amazing to be in the locker room with him,” Shaw told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“You saw the way he behaved, how professional he was. It’s clear to me why he’s been at the top for so many years.”

“His mentality is second to none. I think he’s really improved it in and around the (Man United) locker room.”

Not only bringing that mentality, Man United should be able to give him support so that Ronaldo can continue to shine in every game he plays. Because any great player needs help from his teammates to score goals or provide assists.
