Makes Blunder, Jordan Pickford Defended by Carlo Ancelotti

DBasia.news – Everton have won 100 percent of their victories so far this season. The Toffees have played four games. Two matches in the Premiere League event, the rest are in the League Cup stage.

Most recently, Liverpool’s city rivals have qualified for the fourth round of the Carabao Cup after defeating the opposition from League One, Fleetwood Town. Everton lead 5-2 when they travel to Fleetwood headquarters, Highbury Stadium, Lancashire, Thursday (24/9) early morning WIB.

Despite winning, the Toffees still made mistakes that could have been avoided. The hosts’ first goal came as Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford took the risk of playing the ball at the back. Even though his position is being surrounded by all opposing players. Pickford is considered responsible for the situation which gave birth to the host’s goal.

But Don Carlo has another view. He considered Fleetwood’s first goal not just an individual fault Pickford, because someone passed the ball at him.

“We want to get used to building the game from behind, but that is when there is no risk. If it is risky, there is no point, we can concede like just happened,” Ancelotti said as quoted by the Liverpool Echo, Thursday (24/9).

Ancelotti felt that his team learned a good lesson. He will talk to everyone involved in the careless process.

“Jordan is not the only one,” concluded the former Real Madrid manager.

In the match against Fleetwood, Ancelotti fielded a number of his core players. Apart from Pickford, there are Richarlison, Dominic Cavlert-Lewin, Lucas Digne, Michael Keane.

It has its own calculations. Don Carlo felt that his side was going to have a difficult match, so he didn’t make many changes.
