Man City 2-0 Victory Against Fulham Injured De Bruyne

Man City vs Fulham

DBasia.news – Without any obstacle, Manchester City handled Fulham in the round of 16 2018-2019 League Cup. At Etihad Stadium, The Citizens as LaLiga defending champion won with a 2-0 score by two goals from Brahim Diaz.

The 19-year-old player became the star of the team by two goals at 18′ and 65′. His impressive performance ensured Real Madrid to recruit him next summer when his contract with Man City ends.

As concerned, Madrid are targeting Diaz’s situation in Man City. His contract would end soon, and so far he hasn’t signed the contract renewal with Man City. Diaz could move freely at the end of this season or January during the winter transfer market.

Unfortunately, there was one misfortune for The Citizens due to the injury of Belgium attacking midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne. The 27-year-old player walked painfully with an injury in his left knee due to the bump with Fulham player, Timothy Fosu-Mensah.

After that, De Bruyne got substituted. Man City manager Pep Guardiola is still waiting for his update from the medical team. “He’s being checked by the doctors. I don’t know right now. I don’t know,” Guardiola told ESPN.

Guardiola sent four academy alumni as the starter in that match: Aro Muric, Oleksandr Zinchencko, Phil Foden, and Diaz. They got the compliment from the manager.

“Everybody was good. Brahim made two goals, Aro (Muric) making a clean sheet – we didn’t concede too many chances, and he gave us good security. Every time Phil Foden plays a good level,” Guardiola added.

“It was another good performance. They played with a lot of discipline with and without the ball. We attacked both inside and outside. We could’ve scored more goals but it’s OK,” he continued.

With that result, Man City will wait for the winner between Leicester City Vs Southampton in the quarter-final of League Cup. Leicester’s match was postponed due to the death of the owner in a helicopter crash.
