Man City Tumbled, Guardiola Reluctant to Blame Ederson

DBasia.news –  Ederson Moraes made a fatal mistake which made Manchester City tumble at Manchester United 0-2. City manager, Pep Guardiola, doesn’t want to put the blame. Playing an English League match at Old Trafford, Sunday (03/08/2020), City lost because of goals from Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay in each round. However, these two MU goals occurred because of Ederson’s carelessness.

“Ederson saved a shot or two, he’s an amazing goalkeeper. I don’t criticize my players, mistakes are part of the game. He will be even better. ” said Pep as reported by the club’s official website.

The former Barcelona coach also commented on City’s game.

“We played well, we played poorly in the first half, but the second half was much better and it was a good performance. Our game was quite good as we played away. They (United) waited and gave a long pass to James and Martial. ” stated Pep Guardiola.

Guardiola also commented that the loss of Kevin De Bruyne was not the reason City lost in this match.

“We lost not because Kevin (De Bruyne) did not play. Of course Kevin is an important player, but all players are important. This is unfair for other players. I respect all my players and they do very well. I told them I was unhappy but we’reall good. ” said the former Bayern Munich coach.

With this defeat, Manchester City are now increasingly behind with Liverpool from the top of the standings with a distance of 25 points.
