DBasia.news – Renowned journalist, Fabrizio Romano reports that Real Madrid are now the favorite team to sign Antonio Rudiger’s services, while Manchester United are claimed to have backed down in the hunt for the Chelsea centre-back.
Romano says Rudiger has yet to reach an agreement with any club, but Los Blancos are the team most likely to secure his signature in the summer transfer window.
The German national team defender has been targeted by many top European clubs as his tenure with Chelsea will soon end on June 30.
The Blues, at this time, were unable to extend his contract due to the sanctions imposed on the club’s owner, Roman Abramovich, for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Antonio Rudiger was one of Thomas Tuchel’s key players in the success of embracing the Champions League title last season. There is no doubt that clubs like Manchester United, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, and Real Madrid are lining up to sign him.
However, Romano said that at the moment only PSG are still interested, apart from Madrid, while MU and Bayern have withdrawn from the hunt.
One thing that is a hurdle for these clubs is the demand for wages from the 29-year-old defender which is considered to be too high.
