DBasia.news – Barcelona’s desire to sign Bernardo Silva seem to be hampered. The reason, Manchester City have no intention of releasing the Portugese player.
Bernardo Silva’s name did appear as one of Barcelona’s targets this summer. His quality is admired by his coach, Xavi Hernandez.
Silva’s presence is also projected to replace Frenkie de Jong’s role. He is now the main target for Manchester United.
Silva is reportedly interested in Barcelona’s offer. He even asked for permission to be allowed to move to Camp Nou.
But Manchester City had a different plan. The Citizens have now made the decision to keep Silva.
According to the Mirror, Manchester City will not let Silva go even though Barcelona are prepared to pay a hefty amount. This is a direct request from the manager, Pep Guardiola.
Guardiola in fact still needs Silva’s energy to navigate the 2022-2023 season. He also does not believe in being able to find a suitable replacement in such a short time.
Even so, Barcelona have not given up. El Barca is believed to be insistent on completing Silva’s transfer if De Jong is really sold to Manchester United.
Barcelona hope to sell De Jong for around 85 million euros. While Silva’s value is believed to reach 80 million euros.
