DBasia.news – FIFA is promoting the monitoring of potential violations to recruit underage players. Chelsea are the latest victims because of the violations they committed and were sentenced to transfer spending for two consecutive periods.
The application of regulations and granting of sanctions related to violations is retroactive, which means that activities that have taken place in the previous period can remain an ingredient of the investigation of the world soccer association.
According to reports from the US, Manchester City are currently getting the spotlight from FIFA regarding the recruitment they did in 2015, specifically when they brought in a player who is now a star at Borussia Dortmund, namely Jadon Sancho, from Watford.
Sancho was 14 years old and indeed a British citizen, but FIFA is currently investigating the payments they made to Emaka Obasi, the agent of the player. A payment of 200 thousand pounds was given to the agent as part of a contract to monitor players from Central and South America.
But it got the spotlight after information from German media, Der Spiegel, stating that the payment was made in connection with Sancho’s move from Watford, an act that violated FIFA’s rules regarding payments to agents regarding transfers of players under 18 years old.
