DBasia.news – The Arbitration Sports Court (CAS) officially ruled to overturn a two-year ban against Manchester City that was posted by UEFA.
Manchester United legend, Gary Neville considers UEFA to be unable to enforce its own rules and lose the appeals court.
“UEFA cannot put itself in a simple discipline. We have known that for years, especially to get something complicated,” Neville said, as quoted from Sky Sports page, Tuesday (7/14).
According to him, UEFA cannot fully enforce rules firmly. Neville said this was not the first time this had happened.
“So it is not surprising that in a serious court that Manchester City has won this case. Because UEFA itself cannot regulate their own discipline,” he added.
Neville considers it reasonable if Manchester City can achieve a gap so they can win the appeal. The Citizens would not only receive their rights to play in the European arena, but also have a good reputation in the eyes of the world of football.
“I know people have problems between potential owners, state ownership and others, but we are not talking about that, but about Financial Fair Play, finance, and people who can invest in football clubs.”
“It’s not about the amount of money a person puts into a football club, it’s about whether people can afford it. That is a test that needs to be made based on the foundation,” concluded Neville.
