DBasia.news – Barcelona is reportedly targeting Manchester City player, Ferran Torres. The Citizens do not mind as long as Barca are willing to give up one of the three players included in the list.
Barcelona are no longer shy about expressing their interest for Ferran Torres. Some time ago, the vice president of Barca did not deny that Torres is one of the players who entered the target list.
Manchester City, who heard of Barcelona’s interest has set a price of 70 million euros. This value is almost three times what Man City spent when they purchased Torres from Velencia in 2020.
Unfortunately, Barcelona does not have that much financial power. Understandably, the Blaugrana need to be wise in the transfer market as they are experiencing financial problems. Barca could fall deeper into debt if they take the wrong mov.
Man City is aware of Barcelona’s finances. Therefore, The Citizens offered another formula which is to swap players. That way, Barca do not need to spend money transfers.
The Daily Star reports, Manchester City wants to obtain one of Frenkie de Jong, Ansu Fati or Pedri as a barter for Ferran Torres. Man City gave Barca the freedom to choose the players to be included in the deal.
Of the three players, the most likely to leave is De Jong. In recent weeks, news broke that De Jong was not included in Xavi’s plans.
Although Xavi has denied it, the news has not subsided. Moreover, when compared to De Jong, Ansu Fati and Pedri are considered as valuable assets in the future. Barcelona has also fenced off the player with a long-term contract and a high release clause.
