Manchester City Wore Special Jerseys in the Community Shield

DBasia.news –  Manchester City is seen wearing a special kit to commemorate 125 years of the founding of the club against Liverpool in the Community Shield.

The Cityzens were originally named St. Mark’s (West Gorton) of the 1880s before finally using their current name as of 1894, and to celebrate this, Pep Guardiola’s troops would compete with a retro jersey without sponsors and incorporate features chosen by their own fans.

Light blue shirts with white trim still dominate their uniforms, plus the inscription “125 years” in gold under the club badge.

David Silva and mates completed their uniforms with white pants and socks when challenging Jurgen Klopp’s troops.

“Manchester City has enjoyed tremendous success in recent years, but we also have a rich history that we are proud of,” said COO Omar Berrada.

“The 125th anniversary season of the club will give us the opportunity to mark important moments in the life of Manchester City, and celebrate the fantastic journey that has been spent together by our club and fans.”
