Manchester United almost made Ansu Fati the second most expensive player in the world

DBasia.news – Manchester United was linked with Jadon Sancho’s name last summer. But at almost the same time, the British giants had almost succeeded in hijacking Ansu Fati from Barcelona.

Manchester United’s target in the transfer market last summer was clear, looking for the right winger. Sancho’s name is the main candidate to fill the position.

However, Manchester United’s plan to obtain Sancho did not go smoothly. Borussia Dortmund as the owner of the player has sold him for a high price of around 120 million euros excluding bonuses.

When Sancho’s negotiations reached a dead end, Ansu Fati’s name emerged as a replacement option. The figure of Jorge Mendes as the agent of the 18-year-old player is the trigger.

Reporting from Sport, Mendes offered Ansu Fati to Manchester United. The Red Devils can get his serve by paying 150 million euros to Barcelona.

Manchester United were tempted by the offer. Old Trafford is reportedly willing to make up for the high price tag in order to obtain Ansu Fati.

However, Ansu Fati’s departure was immediately closed. Blaugrana offered a new contract by doubling the release clause.

Ansu Fati then agreed to Barcelona’s offer. This at the same time ended negotiations with the Manchester United.

If Ansu Fati’s move materializes, the player from Guinea Bissau will be the second most expensive player in the world. The transfer value can only be defeated by Neymar who moved to PSG for a tag of 222 million euros.
