Manchester United and Liverpool fights for the young Ajax player

DBasia.news – The rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester United does not only occur on the field, but also in the player transfer market. One of the players they are currently targeting is Ryan Gravenberch.

The 19-year-old player has emerged as another talented player from the Ajax academy, as have Frenkie de Jong, Donny van de Beek and Matthijs de Ligt in the past. Gravenberch has debuted since September 2018.

Since then Gravenberch has become a regular player in Erik ten Hag’s Ajax midfield. At Euro 2020 Gravenberch was also brought in by Frank de Boer into the Dutch national team squad (and is still relied on by Louis van Gaal).

The player with nine caps is predicted to have a bright future and become a hot commodity among European clubs. According to the news published by Fichajes, Man United and Liverpool are interested in signing him, as are Juventus and Barcelona.

Ajax wants to keep him but if there is a anyone who is able to provide the right price then it is possible for Ajax to let him go, especially releasing a talented player at a high price, this is not the first time Ajax has done it.

Gravenberch has a contract with Ajax until 2023 and the club has not been able to convince him to sign a new contract. Ajax hopes Gravenberch can extend the contract of the player who now has a tag of around 30 million pounds.

His value is relatively low for clubs like Liverpool and United. Gravenberch also hopes that if he leaves Ajax he can provide the club with a large income from his sale.

“Ajax have shaped me into who I am today, and it would be nice if I could give something back,” Gravenberch told De Telegraaf some time ago.

“The high transfer fee is good for the club, but also indirectly for myself. If a club pays a lot of money for you, you still come in as a bigger man.”
