Manchester United are looking for David De Gea’s successor

DBasia.news – There is new news related to speculation regarding the new goalkeeper of Manchester United. The Red Devils are reportedly interested in signing FC Porto goalkeeper, Diogo Costa.

Manchester United currently has a tough goalkeeper in David De Gea. The Spanish national team goalkeeper always appear impressive under the Red Devils goal.

However, De Gea’s contract will expire in 2023. MU are still hesitant to extend his contract, so they started looking for an alternative replacement.

A Bola’s report claims that United already have a new candidate for the position. They are interested in proposing Diogo Costa from FC Porto.

The report claims that Manchester United are interested in signing Costa after observing the goalkeeper’s track record.

Costa is a Porto academy-trained goalkeeper. He first debuted in the Porto first team in 2019, and in the last two seasons he has been the main goalkeeper at the Estadio Do Dragao.

His form this season has also been impressive, where he managed to keep 4 clean sheets from 8 Portuguese League matches which made MU interested in signing the 23-year-old goalkeeper.

But the same report claims that Manchester United will have difficulty to secure the services of the goalkeeper.

Costa extended his contract at Porto last year. He is currently under contract until 2026.

As a result, MU must be prepared to spend a large amount of money to secure the Portugal national team goalkeeper in 2023.

United themselves reportedly had help to sign Costa as the goalkeeper is under the auspices of Gestifute, the agency owned by Jorge Mendes.

MU and Mendes have a good relationship so they are optimistic that they can secure the services of the goalkeeper.
