Manchester United has Difficulty to Repeat Sir Alex Ferguson’s heyday

DBasia.news – Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, is pessimistic to match Sir Alex Ferguson’s achievements. Manchester United are fifth in the Premier League and have just watched their rivals, Liverpool claim the English League title.

Manchester United successfully won a total of 38 trophies, including 13 Premier League, when held by Sir Alex Ferguson for 26.5 years. Since Ferguson’s retirement left in 2013, the Red Devils have only won three trophies.

“We have to be honest to say that at the moment it is much more difficult,” Solskjaer said as quoted by BBC Sport.

Since Ferguson left, Manchester United only won the FA Cup in 2015-16, the Europa League (2016-17), and the League Cup (2017). Currently United still have a chance to add to the trophy collection in the FA Cup.

For Solskjaer, the competition is far tougher now. The challenge doesn’t only come from one club. “We can get challenges whether it’s from Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool. But more often just one of them.”

“(Formerly) the third place was not normal. Now there are at least four or five teams that can win the league and the trophies,” stated Solskjaer.
