DBasia.news – Despite the competition is still long, Manchester United are predicted failing to achieve the Premier League and Champions League titles this season.
The opinion was released by the former Manchester United captain who currently becomes a football expert, Gary Neville.
Neville, who started his career from Man United academy and played in the main squad in the 1994-2005 period, isn’t sure that The Red Devils could achieve the Premier League or Champions League title.
Man United’s inconsistency this season in the Premier League is the reason. It’s supported by the 0-1 defeat of Man United over Juventus at Old Trafford.
“What we saw at Old Trafford showed why Juventus could win this season in the Champions League and Manchester United can’t,” Neville said.
“There’s a big gap between the two teams, United in the 10th rank of Premier League, and Juve one of the best teams in Europe and have everything to succeed. Securing the big four should be the main focus because they won’t be able to win the Premier League or Champions League.”
For Neville, firing Jose Mourinho wouldn’t be the best solution for Man United. Especially considering the fighting spirit of the players in three recent matches against Newcastle United, Chelsea, and Juventus.
“Mourinho will be criticized, but I’ve said it before the match, I think United must stay with him and the defeat (against Juventus) won’t change it,” Neville added.
