DBasia.news – Manchester United is not the main destination for the world’s best players, including Erling Haaland. That is the opinion expressed by former MU striker, Andy Cole.
In the past, Manchester United was the main destination for the world’s top players. The Red Devils have had top players such as Ruud van Nistelrooy, Cristiano Ronaldo, Juan Sebastian Veron, or Robin van Persie.
But now, Andy Cole sees that the Red Devils have lost their appeal. According to him, Manchester United must win a trophy to attract the best players.
“To make these players come, Haaland for example, you have to persuade them with something,” said Andy Cole quoted from the Independent.
“You have to lure them with a trophy or the potential to win a trophy in at least another year,” added Cole.
Cole also assessed that Manchester United is currently unable to compete with Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid in terms of targeting players.
“These players have other options, maybe Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Real Madrid, maybe Barcelona,” continued Cole.
Currently, Cole believes that Manchester United cannot guarantee to bring in top players.
“Even though I love Manchester United, I don’t think the current club can count on the name,” concluded Cole. “Especially, when trying to bring in the best players.”
