DBasia.news – Manchester United legend, Roy Keane questioned the club’s desire to play and the club’s intention to become the Premier League champion. Keane gave an example from the match against Chelsea which ended in a goalless draw.
The Red Devils drew goalless against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday (01/03) am. That reinforces the fact that MU has never won against the big six or six big teams this season in the Premier League.
Man United have played six times in a row against the Big Six without being able to score. In total they only scored once against Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool.
This is a concern for Roy Keane. The former MU captain sees MU’s current intention to be runner-up in the Premier League under Manchester City, instead of trying to try to win the top of the standings.
“It was a bad game, I got more and more annoyed as the match went on. There was no desire to enter the penalty box. Quality is less than United. Big games when they don’t perform well and that must be a concern,” said Keane as quoted by the Independent.
“They try and win, but in this game I think their mindset should not have be beaten. I think United are looking at the team behind them rather than trying to win games and catch Man City.”
“I think they are concentrating on strengthening that second place. Sometimes you can get 0-0 and have a good game, but some of these games are really boring considering there are good attacking players in the team.”
“When you are in one of the big teams, the responsibility is to win football games,” said the man from the Republic of Ireland.
Harry Maguire and his team mates are currently in second place in the standings with 50 points, 12 points adrift of Manchester City who are at the top of the standings. Ironically, when MU played against the Big Six, they became the sharpest team in the league with a score of 53 goals.
