Manchester United lost to Middlesbrough due to mistakes

DBasia.news – Manchester United coach, Ralf Rangnick, believes his team made too many mistakes when they met Middlesbrough. Especially regarding the final solution which was wasted a lot.

Manchester United had to leave the FA Cup after being eliminated by Middlesbrough on penalties. Previously, both teams played equally strong 1-1.

In fact, Manchester United had many opportunities to score goals, such as through Cristiano Ronaldo’s penalty kick. In addition, Bruno Fernandes also failed even though the goal was empty.

“We should have won and finished the game in the first half. However, we hit the crossbar, the goal post, missed a penalty, and many other opportunities,” Rangnick said as reported by the Daily Mail.

The Red Devils were indeed less efficient in taking advantage of opportunities. In fact, Man United fired 30 shots throughout the game.

“I am more happy with our performance in the first half. However, the FA Cup is about winning and moving on to the next round. We are very disappointed,” said Rangnick.

Ralf Rangnick also gave his support to Anthony Elanga who was the only Manchester United penalty taker who missed. Rangnick revealed the condition of the player.

“Anyone can imagine how he was. He was devastated and completely disappointed. It was Man United’s eighth penalty all converted,” added Ralf Rangnick.
