Manchester United players must be prepared for their coach’s harsh criticism

DBasia.news – Diogo Dolot, Manchester United defender, hopes his team mates can continue to adapt to the way Erik ten Hag coaches as his leadership is known to be tough and disciplined.

Erik ten Hag started to mix his tactics at Manchester United. In pre-season, the Red Devils won against Liverpool, Melbourne Victory and Crystal Palace. Meanwhile, the match against Aston Villa ended in a 2-2 draw.

Although dominated by positive results, it does not mean that Erik ten Hag is satisfied with Manchester United’s game. Several times the coach has seen direct criticism of players on the field. One of them was when David de Gea chose to bounce the ball into the middle.

Diogo Dalot does not deny that discipline is an important factor in Ten Hag’s era. According to him, as long as the aim is for the good of Manchester United, the players must be ready to do so and accept it.

“It is a matter of discipline. We have to be ready for that,” Dalot explained as reported by Goal.

“We have to be ready to listen to things we might not want to hear. Everything is for the good of the team and that’s the most important thing.”

Dalot believes Manchester United’s journey will not be easy. Moreover, there are many new elements in The Red Devils.

“I think we are starting from scratch. New manager, new things, new energy, new players and we can’t wait to play with them. We want to build the team, the staff, the club and everyone going together.”
