Manchester United will make its own Stand

DBasia.news – Manchester United has began to take action to anticipate the possibility of football resuming after the corona virus dies down. The Red Devils will try to make its own stand at Old Trafford.

The Trafford Council gave Man United the green light to make the stands which will be tested when fans are later allowed to watch the match from the stadium again. The stands are planned to be used next season.

A total of 1,500 seats with protectors will be placed in the stands to provide security for fans. After being given the green light by the Trafford Council, Man United will find a solution so that shippers and workers can work safely in the midst of the coron virus pandemic to build the stands.

The stands are similar to those at Wolverhampton Wanderers headquarters, Molineux Stadium. The construction was confirmed by United’s handling Director, Richard Arnold.

“It must be stated, in no uncertain terms, that our top priority is to keep our people safe from the Covid-19 pandemic. It might be strange to talk about stadium plans at this time, but our football and fans will return when it is safe and our preparations for it must continue, “said Arnold on United’s official website.

“This announcement is the latest step in a long journey with our fans. We have listened to their input, in particular, the representation made by MUST (Man United fan base) and working with the Trafford Board to develop and approve this proposal.”

“Our belief is that the introduction of barrier seats will increase the safety of spectators in the area of the stadium where – as with other clubs – we have seen examples (stands).”

“This also allows us to prove in the future of the stadium if there is a change in the stadium’s current all-seater policy. If the experiment is successful, we can consider further implementation of the barrier seating in other parts of the stadium.”

The installation of the stands also answered complaints of fans who complained of not being able to enjoy the match because other fans were standing. Those who were standing disturbed the view of fans who are sitting.

Security will remain a priority for United, given the Hillsborough tragedy that occurred to Liverpool fans in 1989. In the FA Cup semifinal match against Nottingham Forest 96 Liverpool fans died because the stands collapsed.

“These two initiatives underline our commitment to the continuous improvement of Old Trafford, with a focus on further improving the game experience, atmosphere and security for all supporters,” concluded Arnold.
