Manchester United Won Over Nottingham Forest

DBasia.news – Manchester United managed to win 3-0 over Nottingham Forest, after returning to action in the English Premier League and undergoing a break in the competition due to the 2022 World Cup.

The Red Devils took a two-goal lead in the first half through the action of Rashford who continued his slick scheme from Christian Eriksen’s corner in the 19th minute and it was the turn of the English striker to provide assist for the second goal scored by Martial in the 22nd minute. United sealed the win with a third goal that was created from Fred three minutes before the game ended.

This was Erik ten Hag’s team’s first game of the season since Cristiano Ronaldo left in November and they were immaculate in attack, dominant from the start to sealing all three points at Old Trafford.

Nottingham Forest had hoped to catch up with their two goals late in the first half when Ryan Yates’ header found David De Gea’s goal, but the referee ruled it out as the ball touched Willy Boly’s foot who was offside as it slid towards goal.

These three additional points have made United collect 29 points, solidifying their position in fifth and are now only one point away from the top four zone or a ticket to the Champions League next season.

Rashford has scored 10 goals in all competitions this season for Manchester United (21 games), doubling his tally from last season’s total for the Red Devils (5 goals in 32 games).

United then have another Premier League game away at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday (31/12). Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest will host Chelsea the following day.
