Marcelo Joins Olympiakos

DBasia.news – Real Madrid legend Marcelo has found his new club. The club came from Greece, namely Olympiakos.

The former Real Madrid captain was forced to part with Los Blancos after being together for 15 years. Marcelo left after his contract expired in June.

Throughout his professional football career, Marcelo has only played for two clubs, namely, Fluminense and Real Madrid. Marcelo’s loyalty also seems to be clearly unquestionable.

However, his age which is no longer young has caused Los Blancos management to decide not to extend the captain’s contract. Apart from his age and declining performance, Carlo Ancelotti certainly wants to give his young players the opportunity to develop.

Throughout the transfer market this summer there was no news at all about the Brazilian’s decision. However, now Marcelo finally chose to join the Greek team, Olympiacos.

Marcelo’s performance may not be qualified in La Liga, but the 34-year-old is clearly still qualified enough to play in the Greek Super League. Marcelo signed a season-long contract with Olympiacos with the option of an extension at the end of his contract.

Previously, Marcelo had reportedly received offers from AC Milan and Leicester City in the summer transfer market some time ago. However, until the close of the exchange there was no additional clarity from the two teams.
