DBasia.news – Mario Lemina has confirmed his departure from Southampton in the transfer market this summer. That certainly seemed to heat up rumors of his transfer to Manchester United.
Positioned as a midfielder, Lemina can be carried off by the Red Devils in the official price range of £ 18-20 million. In his career, the Gabonese midfielder has also strengthened Lorient (2012-2013), Olympique Marseille (2013-2015), and Juventus (2015-2017).
The 11 caps and three goals with the Gabon national team confirmed his departure from Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton. Lemina was allowed to negotiate with other clubs and was not included in the preseason tour squad.
“I practiced sharpening physically at the training center, with several players including Charlie Austin and Jordy Clasie. I did not accompany the team in the training session after agreeing with the coach,” said Lemina. Sky Sports.
“He wants to build a team with players who want to stay at the club, so he didn’t take me. Earlier this year I gave a target for my condition: I want to go to another club this summer.”
“I was also very frustrated with my injury suffered during the past four months. So, I really want to find something else,” he explained.
Lemina, who has made 46 appearances in the Premier League and scored twice for Southampton, hopes to continue her career in the Premier League and defend big clubs. However, Lemina did not rule out the possibility of playing in different clubs and countries.
“(Premier League) is a very interesting league. The best thing for me is to stay there, but, I don’t close the door to any club or country,” Lemina added.
“Right now, after four months of injury, I’m not targeting anything specifically. I hope to play for the biggest club, now we will see what happens later.”
“I have to choose to go from Juventus to Southampton to play more and I get it. I made a good impression in England, my comeback is good at certain times, so I hope the clubs don’t forget it,” he explained.
Mario Lemina’s Chance to Manchester United: 50%
Lemina is not Man United’s transfer priority to strengthen the midfield. Because United are eyeing Sean Longstaff and Bruno Fernandes. But, if there is an opportunity to recruit Lemina at a low price then United will not waste the opportunity.
