Matthijs de Ligt is Getting Closer to Join Juventus

Matthijs de Ligt

DBasia.news –  De Telegraaf, the leading Dutch media, and Gianluca Di Marzio, an Italian soccer transfer expert, reported that Matthijs de Ligt had agreed to join Juventus.

De Ligt, 19, has become a hot commodity in the transfer market this summer. Besides Juventus, Barcelona, Manchester United and PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) are also interested in recruiting him from Ajax Amsterdam. De Ligt promises a bright future.

But according to De Telegraaf, Juventus became the leading team to recruit De Ligt. Juventus agreed to buy it for 70 million euros and De Ligt will be paid 20 million euros per year. This makes it the second-biggest player in Serie A after Cristiano Ronaldo (30 million euros).

Added by Di Marzio, Juventus got closer to getting De Ligt because they increased their intensity and were confident of beating Barcelona and PSG in taking it. Juventus can be free to act in the player transfer market after recruiting Maurizio Sarri as a new coach.

“Matthijs de Ligt’s strong statement for Juventus. A positive message arrived at the Bianconeri from the 1999 generation. The Dutch are ready to say ‘yes’ (to Juventus),” Di Marzio said on his official website.

The news was clearly a good sign for Juventus. De Ligt could be a successor for two more three-headed Juventus central defenders, Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini. Moreover, Juve needed a new central defender after Andrea Barzagli retired.

Percentage of De Ligt to Juventus: 85%

Judging from the news published from renowned Dutch media and also an Italian transfer expert, De Ligt’s chance to Juventus is quite large. The transfer, if realized, will be a big transfer this summer after Eden Hazard to Real Madrid.
