DBasia.news – Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri admits that he is delighted with Alvaro Morata’s goal when Chelsea won the Matchday 2 of Europa League.
The goal was also special for Alvaro Morata. Apparently, the Spanish striker was absent in scoring the goal since Chelsea won 3-2 against Arsenal on August 2018.
It means it has been two months since Alvaro Morata scored the goal in any competitions. The Chelsea striker cried when the curse ended.
After the match, Maurizio Sarri praised Alvaro Morata’s performance in that match. The Italian manager assumed the goal was important for Morata and Chelsea.
I don’t know, but if he wants to cry after a goal then I hope to see him cry more often,” Maurizio Sarri said.
“I am very happy for him to score. It was important to play a good match, I think he did that. It was important to play for the team like this evening. Alvaro can restart from this point.”
“He is a very important player. At the moment we have Alvaro and Giroud. He is an important player for our season, both Alvaro and Olivier,” Maurizio Sarri added.
Alvaro Morata’s performance with Chelsea isn’t too impressive. From 57 matches in all competitions, Morata just scored 16 goals.
