Maurizio Sarri Returns to Italy to be Closer to His Family

Maurizio Sarri

DBasia.news –  The 60-year-old coach, Maurizio Sarri, returned to training in Italy and thrashed Juventus. The director of Chelsea, Marina Granovskaia, revealed the reason Chelsea released Sarri even though he had only been training for one season.

Sarri signed a three-year contract with Juventus to replace Massimiliano Allegri. He also previously coached Empoli (2012-2015) and Napoli (2015-2018). The Bianconeri hopes that Sarri can improve the quality of the team with an offensive football philosophy.

Granovskaia confirmed that Sarri had indeed spoken directly to Chelsea’s board of directors to return to Italy. Family became the reason for the coach born in Naples, January 10, 1959, to accept Juventus’ proposal.

“In conversations after the Europa League final, Maurizio explained everything about how much his desire to return to his home country, explaining that the reason for returning to work in Italy was quite significant,” said Granovskaia, quoted by Football-Italy.

“He also believes how important it is to be close to his family, as well as his parents, he feels he must live close to them at this point.”

Granovskaia, representing Chelsea, also expressed his gratitude for Sarri’s work in bringing the club to two finals: League Cup and Europa League, winning the Europa League title, and bringing the finishing team in the Champions League zone.

“Maurizio left Chelsea with all our gratitudes for all of the performances he did and also his assistants throughout the season he spent as our coach, as well as for the Europa League title, taking us to the final (League Cup) and ranked third in the Premier League,” added Granovskaia .

“We also want to thank him for securing a big role in Serie A and praying for the best in the future,” he concluded.
