Maurizio Sarri Still having Difficulties To Achieve a Trophy when Coaching Italian Clubs
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Juventus were defeated 1-3 to Lazio in the Italian Super Cup which took place in Saudi Arabia. The results ensured that Maurizio Sarri was still having trouble winning the trophy in Italy.
One Bianconeri’s goal was scored by Paulo Dybala (45 ‘) and three Lazio goals were scored by Luis Alberto (16’), Senad Lulic (73 ‘), and Danilo Cataldi (90 + 4’). For the second time in a row Lazio have defeated Juventus in two different competitions.
Previously, Lazio also gave Juventus the first defeat in Serie A with identical scores. Sarri assessed that his team was physically and psychologically exhausted until they were subdued by Simone Inzaghi’s team.
“We stayed in the match and my feeling is that we reached the final stage with a bit of physical deficiencies and psychological energy,” Sarri said, as reported by Football-Italy.
“That can happen after playing eight games, one every three days. We are close to scoring equalizer, but then conceding the third goal with the final kick. We are always there.”
Throughout his coaching career from 1990, Sarri (60 years) has only won a trophy in the form of the Europa League trophy with Chelsea in the 2018-19 season. He has never played a title in Italy. Nevertheless, it did not disappoint him at all.
“There is disappointment, but I will not weep (overreact). That does not solve the problem. I think my players will not allow themselves to be influenced just because (losing) in two matches (against Lazio),” Sarri added.
“Lazio is in a magical performance at the moment, everything is according to their wishes and things can change in two or three months. If they continue that performance, I doubt anyone can do much against them,” he explained.
