DBasia.news – Juventus’ decision to dismiss Maurizio Sarri after only one season in office, and kept his salary even after he was out of work, has cost the club 17.335 million euros (292 billion rupiah).
The news was released by Calcio e Finanza, a media that focuses on discussing football and the finances of football clubs. They analyzed the Bianconeri’s financial statements as of December 31, 2020, which proved that dismissing Maurizio Sarri had a bigger impact than previously thought.
The tactician was sacked on August 8 2020, just days after winning the Scudetto in his debut season, with Andrea Pirlo selected to replace him.
After carefully inspecting the financial statements, Calcio e Finanza found evidence that Juve must continue to pay Sarri and his staff 15.457 million euros (258 billion rupiah) until their contract expires in June 2022.
Not only that, there are also expenses related to Sarri which are worth 1.878 million euros (32 billion rupiah). That brings the total value of his dismissal to 17 million euros if it is resolved in June 2022.
However, Juventus could erode it significantly as they havee the right to terminate a deal worth 2.5 million euros (43 billion rupiah) in June this year.
Sarri himself is still unemployed until now, but there are still a number of clubs lining up to obtain his services, including his former club, Napoli.
