DBasia.news – Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis, spoke up regarding rumors of recruiting Mauro Icardi this summer. De Laurentiis claims that the Inter Milan striker prefers to move to Juventus this summer.
For the past five years, Icardi has become a crucial figure in Inter Milan’s squad. He has always been the spearhead of Nerrazurri, where he won the Serie A top scorer in the 2017/2018 season.
Last week, Inter Milan CEO, Giuseppe Marotta, issued a surprising statement regarding Icardi. He confirmed that the striker was not included in his team’s plans for next season.
With this situation, Icardi was reported to have started looking for a new club this summer. One club that is very interested in bringing the striker is Napoli.
Napoli is said to recruit Icardi to strengthen their attacking line. The team from Naples was reported to have made a bid for the player in the past two weeks.
However, De Laurentiis has denied the news, in which he said the striker would not move to San Paolo next season.
“Icardi always wants to join Juventus,” the president said.
“I myself prefers Lorenzo Insigne because we need him. In our attack line, we have Arkadiusz Milik and Dries Mertens,” he stated.
