DBasia.news – Many thought Lionel Messi would run rampant in Ligue 1 with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). However, the flow of goals from the star is actually dragging in a competition that is often referred to as the Farmers League.
Lionel Messi does not deny himself the difficulty in adapting to new competitions. Messi explained that in Ligue 1 he had more trouble finding space than in LaLiga.
Since joining PSG, Messi has not scored in his three Ligue 1 matches. Until now, Messi has only been able to contribute a goal to his new club. The only goal he scored came in the Champions League when they defeated Manchester City 2-0.
“I haven’t been here long. But in my initial assessment, Ligue 1 is a competition that is much more physical than LaLiga,” Messi said.
“Here, the opponent looks stronger to me. Every game is very tight and there is little room to move,” Messi added.
The lack of goals scored by Messi is indeed a highlight. Understandably, goals are synonymous with the star. Noted, the Argentina national team captain has scored 38 goals in 47 matches in a calendar year.
