DBasia.news – FC Barcelona left-back, Jordi Alba, gave his brave statement regarding the 2018 Ballon d’Or. After seeing his teammate Lionel Messi didn’t win the Ballon d’Or, Alba assumed the 2018 Ballon d’Or is full of lie.
The Ballon d’Or ceremony has ended. Luka Modric was chosen as the winner, and followed by Cristiano Ronaldo and Antoine Griezmann. Meanwhile, the past winner, Lionel Messi, finish in the fifth position.
After the event, there were some issues. Some parties doubted the final result. Some others assumed Modric deserved this title.
“The Ballon d’Or is a lie, there are many club and press campaigns. Everyone knows that Messi is the best player in the world by far,” Alba said cited by Soccerway.
Next, Brasilian football legend Pele also made his controversial statement saying Messi is not better than Diego Maradona. Alba also responded to that statement. “Pele may not see it very well if he says that about Leo. Messi has everything,” Alba emphasized.
His former teammate in Barcelona, Carles Puyol, also supports Mesi. The former Spain national team player assumed Messi no longer needs the individual prize.
“Anybody doubt who’s the best? They don’t need individual prizes… #LeoMessi,” Puyol tweeted.
Meanwhile, Lionel Messi isn’t bothered by the issue and focuses to defend Barcelona. The 31-year-old player scored two goals when Blaugrana defeated Espanyol 4-0.
