MIFA surprises JDT

DBasia.news – JOHOR BAHRU: All time champion Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) lost to Premier League team MIFA 1-2 in Group C Malaysia Cup at Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium, Larkin on Sunday.

Although the JDT dominated the game and often crashed into the visitors’ fort, but the failure to translate every dangerous movement with the goal spoilt the chance for victory for the five consecutive Super League champions.

The hosts started raising the tempo of the game in the second half but the best chance to equate the network missed just after Ahmad Hazwan’s free-kick from outside the penalty box in the 61st minute just crossed the goal post.

Corbin’s throw ball caused the captain’s hand B Tinagaran touching the ball in the 69th minute witnessed by the match referee Wan Mohamad Tarmizi Wan Ibrahim whom did not hesitate to give a penalty kick.

Marquez, who was tasked with taking the penalty kick, was kicked the ball into the goal to beat Mohd Muhaimi to tie 1-1.

But visitor team who fired counter-attacks in the 80th minute, trapped the hosts’s home after the exciting move L’Iman Seydi opened the room for Bae Beom-guen to divert the ball right to the right corner of the goal to beat Farizal to make a surprise on JDT.
