DBasia.news – Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has asked his team to keep their temprament in their matches. The request was triggered after his squad were temperamental in a protest at a match against Brighton on Saturday.
Brighton’s Neal Maupay scored the winning goal which took his team away from the Premiere League’s relegation zone. While Arsenal, forced to swallow their second defeat after the competition restarted.
After the match, Arsenal players swarmed around Maupay while pointing at him. This was based on Maupay being held responsible for making Leno injured.
Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi could even be seen strangling Maupay’s neck in annoyance. Arteta insisted his players to remain level-headed.
“When we show frustration, then show it the right way. I have not seen a photo (Guendouzi) after that happened. In principle, we must control the situation better,” Arteta said reported by France24, Monday (6/22).
Arteta admitted that the red card David Luiz got when Arsenal against Manchester City also affected his team’s appearance against Brighton.
“I think all the games are different. When I talk about competition, it means we have to set the strategy well,” he said.
“But we play a very young squad. I do not want to make it an excuse because age is not so influential, but at this level it is indeed difficult to do,” he concluded.
