DBasia.news – Mikel Arteta is pleased that Arsenal are developing quickly in understanding the football philosophy that he wants to develop.
Although he has only won three of his nine matches since his arrival as Arsenal manager, Arteta has seen developments in the way Arsenal players understand the football philosophy he is trying to apply: playing offensively and dominating possession.
“Progress (Arsenal) is faster than I expected,” said Mikel Arteta, quoted from Goal.
“I have discovered things that I didn’t know when I joined and had to overcome. We have never won (many) matches but I have a clear picture of why (we) don’t (winn many matches). There are many factors for that.”
“We have to start winning quickly. The next two or three weeks will determine where we are in the last four or five weeks for the European zone challenge,” explained the former assistant manager of Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
Arsenal is currently still stuck in 11th place in the English Premier League standings with 31 points from 25 appearances. They are still participating in the FA Cup and Europa League to try to win a trophy this season.
