DBasia.news – AC Milan is one step away from signing AS Monaco striker Pietro Pellegri. According to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, the Rossoneri have reached an agreement with the player and the club.
AC Milan continues to strengthen itself ahead of the close of the transfer market. After bringing Olivier Giroud from Chelsea, Milan are still looking for a new striker. The Rossoneri want to provide more striker options for Stefano Pioli.
Milan is aware, it is challenging to continue to depend on Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Age, fitness level, and intensity of injuries has made Ibra unable to always be relied on. Although, it cannot be denied that the former Barcelona striker is very useful on and off the field.
With less than two weeks, Milan was looking for a new striker. The choice fell to the young Italian striker who played at Monaco, Pietro Pellegri.
Before defending Monaco, the 20-year-old striker played for Genoa. Monaco spent 20.9 million euros for Pellegri in the summer of 2018.
However, until now Pietro Pellegri has not performed as expected. Last season, he only scored one goal from 16 matches in Ligue 1.
Milan reportedly managed to reach a personal agreement with Pellegri. An agreement is also one step away from being reached between Il Diavolo Rosso and Monaco.
Milan will borrow the striker for a fee of 1 million euros. In addition, Milan also pocketed a ransom option worth 6 million euros which could turn into an obligation if certain conditions are met. Monaco can also receive extra money as there is a clause on the percentage share of future sales.
Meanwhile, Milan had just announced the arrival of Alessandro Florenzi from AS Roma. The defender has undergone medical tests as part of his move to the San Siro.
