Minister of Youth and Sport Affairs Imam Nahrawi asked PSSI and PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) to terminate the competition for at least two weeks. It’s part of the concern for the incident at GBLA Stadium.

“The government got the report from many parties. BOPI also will conduct a meeting. The government asked the football league for a two-week termination,” Imam Nahrawi said in the press-conference at Kemenpora, Tuesday (25/9).

The request also as a respectful gesture for the victim and the family. “This is the national condolence and introspection that a life is priceless compared to football,” he said.

He hopes PSSI and the competition operator would take a proper decision and the extraordinary one. “There should be a great, brave, and disciplined effort to anyone. At the same time, our football fighters are happy. The U16 national team, U19, and senior are preparing. Don’t let the unity in the U16 and U19 national team stained by this league.”

“In this termination, we ask PSSI to do the education and conduct the regulation from FIFA, AFC, and PSSI, especially the reciprocal from the club and supporter. It has to be comprehensive, mutual, professional, and with dignity.”

“I hope this decision will be conducted properly. The government will guard this seriously to prevent the similar incident from happening,” Imam Nahrawi continued.
